Inspected a beautiful new four-story house the other day. They had four new hardwired smoke detectors. Unfortunately they were smoke-only alarms. There were no carbon monoxide alarms. If they would have used combination alarms they would have been fine.
Moral of the story: Always buy combination alarms (smoke/CO)
